The Newark Police Division must do everything in its power to ensure positive interactions between
the Division and all members of the community, particularly our youth.  School Resource Officers are assigned to each precinct  to provide safe learning environments in our communities schools, to provide valuable resources to school staff members, fostering positive relationships with youth, developing strategies to resolve problems affecting youth and protecting all students, so that they can reach their fullest potentials. School resource officers serve as educators (i.e. guest lecturer) and informal counselor/mentor in the schools they serve.
